Why did I write The Baggage Handler?

Why did I write The Baggage Handler? A couple of reasons …

… because it was the story that came to me one night. I’d just been knocked back by a literary agent over my first manuscript and I was reading a wide range of titles and genres. And at 9pm, reading in bed, my baggage arrived. With an inkling that I needed to write, I grabbed my laptop, headed out to the living room, and the next time I looked at the clock it was 1am … and I had the bare bones of The Baggage Handler on screen.

… because I like to have deeper conversations. I think we’re here for a short span of time, so why waste it on small talk? And sometimes the best way to have conversations – or broach topics that might be uncomfortable – is through story.

If The Baggage Handler helped someone around you – or even you – face something, please let me know. I’d love to hear from you!
