I consider writing fiction to be a calling; as much as hearing that phrase is cause to make me cringe, it’s where I believe I can best use my writing skills to connect with other people, and connect them with life itself.

It won the Christy Award in 2019 for Best First Novel and continues to touch readers, getting them to stop for a moment and think about the baggage that they may be carrying, and what they might do about it.
